What’s New?
While attending the 2024 Thrillerfest organization in Manhattan, I discovered masterclasses in writing thrillers — some through Thrillerfest itself, others through outside sources. I immersed myself in those studies for two years. And voilà. I finally understood how to tell the story I had always meant to tell.
I pulled the original book from the market and started over from scratch. You'll recognize a few of the characters, but The Apocalypse Game: The Black Awakening is an entirely new story — written with every craft lesson I absorbed from those masterclasses, and shaped by the teachings of a true legend in the industry: renowned literary agent and author Donald Maass, whose work on writing breakout thrillers is required reading for any serious novelist.
The result is a book — and a series — that I genuinely believe can help people navigate the extraordinary times we're living through.
